His Hat.

    Teddy ran, her heart banging against her rib cage with each beat. Her breath came in small spurts, her lungs starving.

    Still, she couldn't help but laugh.

    That was, until she tripped over some roots peeking from the ground. She landed with a grunt as the reason she was running caught up. Still, she quietly laughed.

    “My hat please.” The boy said, waiting patiently for her to return his property.

    “Nope,” She turned around, the hat surprisingly still laying on her head. “It’s mine now.” The boy stared at her, expression hidden behind the wooden deer mask he wore.

    “Ted! C’mon…” She sighed, pulling the hat off her head and handing it to him. Her blonde locks now slightly frizzy. That’s when the boy realized, she was laughing.

    Her laugh changed from a giggle to a soft snort then back to a giggle. The boy watched her, slightly shocked. Teddy continuously laughed, and soon Synthetic Prosthetic joined in.

    That’s when she stopped.

    “I-I’m sorry.” She apologized, her cheeks stained a light, dusty pink.

    “Don’t be Ted!” He chuckled. “That was adorable!” Her blush grew darker, her cheeks growing hotter. She stared at him wide-eyed, her heart pounding in her chest.
